Our school in Fgura started in October 2012. Shiro in Japanese means castle here meaning protection, and strength. Shiro (Saigo) is also the name of one of the first four students of Jigoro Kano, the founder of Judo.

Through ongoing participation and knowledge update, our school aims to be the leading judo school in Kodokan judo in Malta. This aim was achieved in 2024 when the school won the national judo championship with 13 Gold medals.
In 2018, the school was officially recognized by the International Judo Federation to teach Kodokan Judo.
Shirojudokwai is a school dedicated to teach Judo along the principles of long term athelete development.
But judo is more than a sport. Shirojudokwai is committed to preserve and promote the judo ideal. Technical skills are taught alongside competition skills in order that one might strengthen the other.
